#SOUTHERNMOSTSUSSKINDS

Our Story

Once upon a NYC night,

two kids from Miami met for drinks on a chilly evening in November 2011. Vivian liked Dan immediately. Dan was oblivious. So began a six-month saga of hanging out and not kissing. Finally, Dan caught on and asked Vivian out on a date. Vivian wore a red skirt and cheetah pumps. Dan doesn’t remember what he wore. They went to BYO sushi, it was OK. Dan was a little awkward. Vivian was trying to act cool. Vivian felt a mix of pena-ajena and butterflies. Dan kissed Vivian for the first time. Vivian discovered Dan was not always awkward. Dan discovered Vivian was weird & liked it. Soon they were inseperable. Vivian taught Dan things like what pena-ajena means, how to dance (he’s still working on it), and how to pick a great Christmas tree (also how to accidentally pick one too tall, freak out, and then hack-saw the stump). Dan taught Vivian how to chill out (she’s still working on it), ski, and recite prayers in Hebrew. After two years of dating they decided to move to Brooklyn together. A year and a half later, Dan proposed to Vivian in the rain at her father’s house. The rain was not planned. Vivian said "YES!".

Formal attire. The ceremony and reception are outdoors. Please note: the fortress grounds are brick, stone, and grass; sensible dancing shoes are recommended!

Things to Do

So, we obviously love going to Key West. Here is a list of our favorite places to eat, drink, and unwind. See these and even more of our recommendations on our Google Map.

The Bride’s favorites

B.O.’s Fish Wagon
Order the blackened mahi-mahi sandwich with key lime aioli.

Louie’s Backyard
Come here during sunset and grab a drink on the back porch for amazing views and relaxed vibes.

The Green Parrot
A favorite local spot just off Duval with live bands! Popcorn machine in the back for late night munchies.

Better than Sex
We’ll leave it up to you to decide if this dessert spot lives up to its name, but do yourself a favor and order a rim job. YOLO.

Fort Zachary Taylor
When we aren’t getting married at the Fort, you can find us biking to Fort Zach’s beach. It’s the best one in our books.

The Groom’s favorites

Bien KW (aka Paseo’s)
They might have changed the name but it doesn’t change my love for the The Press sandwich. Order a corn on the cob on the side.

Banana Café
Like any New Yorker, I get hangry if I don’t eat brunch on Saturday morning. Order a La Super crepe.

Blue Heaven
Ok, another brunch spot...
what can I say? I love bacon.

Dante’s
Order food, drinks, and hop in the pool while listening to music from the live DJ.

Mattheessen’s
OMG GIANT COOKIE.

Key Lime Pie Bakery
Who needs key lime pie when you can have it frozen, on a stick, and dipped in chocolate?!
